Lucia Hargasova - How to ease anxiety with this mindfulness trick

Not so easy when we are in a stressful situation or not grounded. There are several techniques that can get you from a place of Anxiety (Freeze, Fight, Flight) to a more calm presence. You can do it through breathing. The parasympathetic nervous system decreases respiration and heart rate, hence you can start by taking deeper breath in.

I am sharing a short presence exercise with you, inspired by Jay Shetty. Thank you to my yoga teacher Sunita who did this with us last Sunday.

 It’s a grounding meditation, 

5 things you can see, 4 things you can touch, 3 things you can hear, 2 things you can smell and 1 thing you can taste

It sounds very easy and often we forget that we have many different free gifts like this available to us, the most important part is to practice this. 

This simple exercise takes you from your mind into present moment. That is all, tuning into your own breathe.

 

Giving yourself permission to be ok, not to be ok. And release the selfjudgment on how you reacted is a first step.
